TURNCOAT: GOTTI ‘JUNIOR’ ORDERED HITS

A former friend of John “Junior” Gotti said today that the famous mobster’s son collected drug money from Gambino associates and ordered hits on his rivals.
Gambino crime family associate John Alite, a drug dealer who ran his own crew of 150 men, testified in Brooklyn federal court about Gotti’s alleged misdeeds at the trial of Charles Carneglia, a Gambino hit man accused of murder.
Alite, who took the stand as part of a plea deal with the feds, told the jury that he took orders from Gotti and drove a car used in a drive-by shooting during the 1980s.
He also claimed Gotti – son of the notorious Gambino crime boss John Gotti – collected monthly cash payments from a drug-dealing operation across the city.
“If you get caught, you’re dead!” Alite said Gotti’s father warned him once.
Alite, who controlled drug-trafficking and prostitution in dozens of Queens neighborhoods for nearly a decade until 1993, said that although Gotti Sr. had warned Gambino associates not to officially sell cocaine, he frequently looked the other way.
Alite, who said he could never be a “made guy” because he was of Albanian descent, is expected to be a key government witness when Gotti goes on trial later this year.
Gotti is charged with his involvement in three murders and cocaine trafficking.
