Six people accused of being members of a South Florida crew for New York’s Bonanno organized crime family are set to plead guilty.
A series of plea hearings is scheduled today in Fort Lauderdale federal court for the six, who had initially pleaded not guilty.
They are among 11 charged with racketeering or RICO conspiracy by committing a variety of crimes including murder conspiracy, racketeering, Medicare fraud, identity theft and selling stolen goods. The FBI recorded more than 150 conversations among the defendants.
The alleged ringleader is among the five remaining suspects. They could eventually go to trial.
